KE is an Italian brand of luxury exterior shading technology. It was founded more than 30 years ago. All of its products are completely manufactured in Italy down to the last component.
KE is part of a large family-owned company producing shading technology and components for this type of products. It is one of the largest producers and leaders in this market – the Italian BAT Group. This group was founded more than 35 years ago and is still owned today by Mr. Amorino Barbieri and his family.

The name KE is derived from the initials of Mr. Barbieri’s daughters. The production group under the KE brand offers top-class luxury shading technology. Added value comes from design and fully bespoke production.
BAT Group as such develops and manufactures systems and components for all types of awnings (balcony, open, or cassette awnings, etc.) and other available types of exterior shading systems.

This includes blinds but also pergolas – with a rolling roof, pergolas with sliding roofs, or, most recently, the highly popular bioclimatic pergolas with tilting slats. It is precisely sophisticated custom-made bioclimatic pergolas, designer cassette awnings, today’s much sought-after designer retractable shading sails, or special custom shading structures that are introduced to the market under the KE brand.

For all of their systems, both BAT and thus KE use exclusively their own components. This means that the individual parts are developed and manufactured in their own factories. They have full control over quality and development. It is certainly interesting that components from BAT Group are purchased and built into the finished products of other prestigious European shading technology producers. They only use the know-how, manufacturing quality, and patents of BAT Group. The fact that this family-owned company controls every step of the manufacturing process, including sourcing raw materials, was one of our reasons for choosing KE as our partner for shading technology sales.
